FAQ's
What medium are your original paintings?
This varies a lot. I often start with acrylics and various crayons for mark making and then layer with more acrylic paint and finally some oil and cold wax and oil pigment sticks. Some of my paintings are mainly oil and cold wax mixed, oil paint and oil pigments and mediums. These paintings tend to be a bit more expensive due to the higher cost of the materials.
Are your paintings framed?
It varies. Most work on canvas is sold unframed; many people prefer this more modern look and it means it can be shipped without costing you more. If you like the look of a frame you can choose when you have the painting with you – it’s easier to decide that way! A slimline box frame looks great on a canvas.
Some of the paintings on wood are framed if they have been exhibited - details are in each listing. You can email me if you would like me to arrange framing and I can let you know the costs.
Purchasing with a deposit
Spreading the cost of a painting can be a helpful option. Please get in touch with me to arrange. You can hold the painting with a 50% deposit. The balance can be paid in one further payment or 2 monthly payments of 25% each. This is an informal agreement made with trust; you understand that a deposit will secure your artwork and you will be required to pay the remaining balance.
This is not a credit scheme, but an arrangement on trust, at no extra cost to you. Usual shipping costs and return policy will apply.
Can I purchase your work with a different payment plan?
Yes, that can be arranged. For any work over £600 you can pay in instalments. Please send me a message and we can work out an arrangement that suits you. As soon as the final payment is made, your work will be shipped to you.
How will my painting be wrapped?
It depends on size, but paintings will be carefully packed using corner protection, bubble wrap and cardboard. Each one is unique so I take care that is well protected to arrive in perfect condition.
Giclée Printing and Framing
All giclée prints are framed in superior quality wooden frames that come from sustainably sourced UK forests with 2mm float glass, hard-board backs and a professional hanging system. The frames have a natural wood grain finish. You can choose either white or black frames, although I suggest white, which looks best with my Giclee prints and goes with most décor.
Can I visit your studio to choose a painting?
Yes, you certainly can. My studio is in Kemptown in Brighton. Please contact me to make an appointment.
Do you take commissions?
I am always happy to discuss options with you, should you have something in mind, or perhaps colours that you would like. Please contact me to discuss.
